November 2007: Benjamin

November's Student of the Month is Benjamin. He started training in the Dragons Karate Program and has now moved up to the Youth Class. Benjamin is giving all karatekas a run for their money with his great attitude, attendance and outstanding technique! Incidently, Ben's dad is Shihan Craig Vokey of Laurentian Karate. Keep up the good work Benjamin! |
October 2007: Lauren

The student of the month for October is Lauren. Lauren is making great leaps in her karate classes by diligently attending her classes and working very hard to attain her goals. Way to go Lauren! |
September 2007: Nathan

Nathan is the student of the month for September. Nathan is one of our most focused students at the dojo. Nathan enjoys working hard and challenging himself. He is also seen helping Sensei Donna with her younger karatekas. Keep up the good work Nathan! |
August 2007: Philip

The student of the month for August is Philip. Philip's great attitude, and excellent attendance combined with his great technique makes Philip an excellent choice for the August Student of the Month. Keep up the good work Philip! |
June 2007: Allison

Allison is June's Student of the month. Allison is one of our most eager students who loves to help out and assist with the teaching of the younger students. Allison works to her fullest potential and is a great role model for other younger students! Congrats Allison! |
May 2007: Matthew

Matthew is May's Student of the Month. Starting as a tiger moving to dragons and now trains with the youth class. Matthew is the second youngest in the youth group however gives everyone a run for their money. Congrats Matt! |
April 2007: Katelyn
|
The student of the month for April is Katelyn. Katelyn is a white belt who is determined to obtain her yellow belt in the next testing. No challenge is too great for her! She loves to work hard and it shows in all her classes. Superb job Katelyn! |
March 2007: Tyler

A student of the Month has been chosen for March. His name is Tyler. Tyler has been training in martial arts since 2003 and has earned his way up to brown belt. One of Tyler's favourite katas is Seiunchin. Congratulations Tyler! |
February 2007: Bradley

Bradley is one of our newest karateka (student) at the dojo. It is very rare for a newer student to achieve this belt however Bradley has a great positive attitude and also works to his full potential each class. Congratulations Bradley! |
SOM Nominations
If you are a student in the Tigers, Dragons or Youth Class at Benoit's and know a student in your class that should be the next Student of the Month, then let us know by nominating him or her.
Your nomination will be treated seriously, when you provide:
- your name
- your class
- the name of the student you are nominating
- two characteristics that makes this student worthy
E-mail us your nomination.
The instructors ultimately select the Student of the Month. Your input however, will be helpful, as the instructors can't see everything all the time.
Due to the strict criteria for this award, some months won't have a Student of the Month.
