NKA National Karate Championships
Richmond BC
July 11-14, 2007

Rebecca Mailloux and Justin Lanteigne both aged 14 (black belts) recently represented Ontario at the NKA National karate championships in Richmond British Columbia, July 11 - 14, 2007. In order to qualify for the Ontario Provincial Team, Mailloux and Lanteigne had to compete at 4 Karate Ontario tournaments and both took first place at all 4 tournaments, giving both of them first in Ontario. They were then invited to train with the Ontario team in Toronto, twice a month for 5 months.

They competed in their age categories at the Nationals in British Columbia with competitors representing all provinces and territories and after 2 days of competition Mailloux placed third and Lanteigne placed fourth in kata.

They felt honoured to represent Sudbury and Ontario at this National event.
